About our Congregation:
Rural, open country congregations with Norwegian roots . Highland has an
active men's group and Ice Cream Social in July. Big Canoe has anactive
youth/group and annual Lutefisk Dinner in Nov. and annual Strawberry Fest
in June. Both have active Sunday schools and Women's groups.

About our Congregation:
Directions to Canoe Ridge from Decorah: Follow Water Street west to
College Drive--Take College Drive N/NE over the river, follow to the four
way stop intersection with Locust Road (near Casey's) Take Locust Road
north out of town about 4 miles, turn right (east) on Canoe Ridge Road
(there is a sign for the church at this intersection). Follow Canoe Ridge
Road 6.5 miles to the church. Information about our congregation: Canoe
Ridge is a lovely country church in the hills of northeastern Iowa. We are
an ELCA congregation that will celebrate our 100th birthday in 2006. Canoe
Ridge shares a pastor with Glenwood Lutheran Church. Consequently, our
worship time alternates weekly, but we are a warm little congregation that
welcomes all visitors, so please call ahead to get our worship time and
join us on Sunday morning! As of Memorial Day Weekend, 2001, Canoe Ridge
will worship at 8:30am every Sunday, and Glenwood will worship at 10:30am
every Sunday.
