Pinch and sew dolls are such fun and simple to make.  We have put together some that we enjoy, and present them to you in the hopes that they will bring you many hours of creative fun.  Most of them are made with materials that you may have on hand at home.  Using the pinch and sew technique enables you to create many facial expressions that would be difficult to achieve in any other doll making process.  Don't be hesitant, try one of our dolls and see what fun pinch and sew can be.  Once you have mastered the basic techniques, you will be able to recreate one of our dolls or create one of your own.  The dolls all share basic construction techniques.  All are made with a stuffed nylon hosiery or tricot head, sewn onto a wrapped wire armature or a cone body.  Let your imagination soar with these dolls as every pinch that you make will alter the expression on their faces.  The key word with these dolls is experiment.  Try different sized noses, eyes and mouths.  See what happens when you change the placement of the features.  Create a smile, a frown, a complacent look.  You have complete creative freedom as no two faces ever come out the same, and you will be surprised at how quickly you can create one of these amusing dolls.
